About Us

The parish consists of two churches, St Paul`s and St Mary`s which are both set in a population of just over 16,000 people of many different nationalities and backgrounds. This variety makes for a very engaging, challenging, lively and active ministry for all of us. It is a parish rich in possibilities; one which contains undoubted social challenges, and yet which is abundant in works of good will and initiative.

At the heart of the two churches is the celebration of the Eucharist, “Do this in remembrance of me” are the words of Jesus which echo through our lives. The Eucharist is sung at St Paul`s on Sunday mornings at 10.15am and 10am on Wednesdays at St Mary`s. There is also a said celebration of the Eucharist at 7pm on Tuesday evenings at St Paul`s. All the major festivals are observed. With the Eucharist as the foundation of our life we build up the life of the Church with a series of outreach services and times of prayer. These are at varied times of the month and designed to accommodate the needs and questions of those who have no experience or knowledge of Christian tradition. The most regular of these is called “Young @ Heart” which gives a sense of invitation to those who are literally young but also those who are of any age but willing to give it a go!
