Join us for a traditional Whit Sunday service and Crowning of the May King as Annabella will hand over her reign to Noah, our new May King, Balderstone band will play for us; weather permitting our service will be outside.
Do come and join us.
Refreshments after our service and more music from the band!
There is a long-held tradition at Whitsunday for there to be a May Queen. At St John’s this tradition was established in the village in 1928. The first Rose Queen was Miss Alice Haworth, of Brooks Hall, Higham. She is pictured here, as featured in the Nelson Leader (April 1932)
