There is a long-held tradition at Whitsunday for there to be a May Queen. At St John’s this tradition was established in the village in 1928. The first Rose Queen was Miss Alice Haworth, of Brooks Hall, Higham. She is pictured here, as featured in the Nelson Leader (April 1932)

We are a village church set in between the village school and the village hall, in the small Pendle village of Higham, Lancashire. We welcome all to join us for our services and the many community events that support our village.
