St Philips foodbank is in Urgent need of food donations They support family's and single people who are struggling. The cost of living crisis is really taking hold in that community. Both of our churches have collection boxes to receive your gifts. If you would like to donate to St Philips food bank they would be extremely grateful, Items they are asking for: Instant mashed potato, Tinned rice pudding/custard, Tinned vegetables, soup, Long-life fruit juice, Cereal Jars of jam/ honey/ peanut butter/ chocolate spread Jars of pasta sauce, Tinned meat, Hotdogs, Meatballs, Long-life milk Toilet rolls, Shampoo, toothbrush, and toothpaste Donations can be dropped off at St Philips centre. ‘Friday Faith and Fun’ (St Anne’s) were joined by ‘Pizza and Praise’ (St John’s) for an end of term Summer Celebration
Parents attended and it was a joy to share this milestone with them. The Reading was Matthew 5: 14-16, encouraging the youngsters to confidently take up their places in new schools. Each child received a Bible and a personal blessing from Reverend Lesley. After the blessing, children processed down the aisle and made a cross with pebbles they had painted with their name. We tasted edible leaves and learned about the many plants that can be used for health benefits including soapwort, which can clean our hands. This was followed by a delicious lunch with entertainment by Josh Hindle and Matt Whitely. Mothers’ Union is open to all, whether male, female, mother or not. It is a charity that supports family life.
