Great fun was had by all! A time of active worship where the youngsters wrote their own prayers for summer, was followed by ‘old fashioned’ party games (pass the parcel, musical chairs and colour corners), followed by a buffet supper and dancing to music (Taylor Swift seemed to be the most popular!) For more pictures click the link. Our Summer prayer‘As the sun rises, Lord, Let your light shine on me. Destroy the darkness about me, Scatter the darkness before me, Disperse the darkness behind me, Dispel the darkness within me. Let your light shine on me. As the sun rises, Lord, Let your light shine on me’.Thank you to all who help to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with our young people. It is so important that they have this foundation as they travel through life.Wishing you all a beautiful summer. See you again in September.

This is part of the celebrations to mark the 100 year anniversary of Wheatley Lane Methodist Church. The connections to the Methodist Church in Higham go back much further. The old Chapel dates back to 1812, although Methodists were already present in our community, as recorded in the Haworth Circuit, before any were recorded in Burnley or Colne. Higham Chapel history records that it was likely that John Wesley passed through Higham on his way to preach at Roughlee and Colne. Please do go along and share in this moment of marking the history of Christianity in our village
