Our retiring May Queen, Annabella had raised just short of £2,000 for her charities (Myeloma UK and Pendleside Hospice) and she also gave a generous donation to St John’s Church.

Annabella handed over her reign to Noah, our May King. He gave a short speech and announced he will be raising money for Save the Children, as he was distressed at what he sees on tv about children in Ukraine and other parts of the world.

We all sang hymns, accompanied by Balderstone Brass Band, who continued to play in concert as we enjoyed a picnic on the lawn. It was really lovely to have Robert, our Organist join us, as he continues to make a good recovery.
