St Mary the Virgin

Welcome to St Mary’s, Rufford with Holmeswood!

Whilst the lovely church building, adjacent to the grounds of Rufford Old Hall (NT), is of historical interest and architectural beauty, and is the venue for musical concerts and other events, its primary role is still its original one - as a gathering place for the worship of almighty God. The people who gather to worship in this building (some would say they are the Church ) are drawn both from the village of Rufford and from beyond the boundary of the parish and diocese. All are welcome, both to visit but especially to worship here.

Please follow the link to ‘About us’ to find out more.

The parish of Rufford w Holmeswood: St Mary the Virgin is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Blackburn’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
