Members of St Paul's congregation came together in prayer for Thy Kingdom Come on Friday night. The prayer was set in the context of Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and concluded with Benediction.
The evening provided an opportunity for fervent prayer for the mission of the Church, and for a fresh outpouring of God the Holy Spirit on all of our work, enabling us to bear witness to the great things God is doing in our lives. We hope that this will bear fruit in our parish life, so that many people across Adlington may come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
Throughout the days between Ascension Day and Pentecost, we have been making use of the Church of England's Prayer Novena, and we have each been encouraged to pray for five friends, that they may come to recognise God's place in their own lives. In addition, children in our parish have been given Prayer Maps, and have been encouraged to make us of those with their families throughout these days.
