The Annual Meeting of Parishioners and the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) for St Paul's will be held this year on Sunday 25 October at 11.45 am. These meetings are usually held in April, but this year have been delayed by the Covid Pandemic.
The Annual Meeting of Parishioners is to elect two churchwardens to serve for the coming year, and may be attended by all who are on the Church electoral roll, together with those who live within the parish boundaries and whose names are on the civil electoral roll.
The APCM is to elect three lay members to the Deanery Synod, and six lay members to the Parochial Church Council (PCC), and may be attended by those whose names are on the Church electoral roll. The Deanery Synod exists to discuss matters of importance to the church both in the Chorley area, but also across our diocese, and nationally. The PCC works with Fr David in setting our vision for St Paul's Church, and in the day to day running of our parish.
In preparation for these meetings, we have also given notice that the Church Electoral Roll will be revised. If you are not entered on the roll, and would like to, please fill in a form (available in Church), and the Electoral Roll Officer (Ian Horsfield) will ensure that you are able to take part. This needs to be done before 8 October.
Nomination forms for both of these meetings are available at the back of Church: please consider prayerfully whether God is calling you to serve him in taking an active part in the running of your local Church.
