About Us
A very modern building with flexible worship space that was built after a severe fire in 1988, St Peter's is a lively and active congregation with many activities for all ages.
There is a large community centre attached to the church which hosts groups of many types: Explorers, Scouts, Guides, Brownies, Cubs, Rainbows & Beavers meet each week. There is a Flower-arranging group, Yoga and Keep Fit groups, a local Badminton team play in the Hall and the facilities are shared with the Helmshore Christian Fellowship who worship in the hall each Sunday. For room hire enquiries please phone 07484 877959.
There are regular prayer groups, bible studies and healing services, usually held in the church or Community Centre. Home Communions are regularly taken out to all the local care homes in the town. Once a month there is an afternoon Eucharist and tea (usually the third Tuesday, at 2pm).
The congregation has an active social programme for all ages and is especially welcoming to families with young children. The Diocese of Blackburn awarded St Peter's their Child Friendly Church award in 2009.
