The recent Coffee Morning organised by Lenore Clarke and her brilliant volunteers in aid of church funds raised an incredible £1051.00. Thank you to everyone who contributed cakes, jars of jam and marmalade, plants, garden equipment and raffle prizes. Thank you to those who served drinks and those who manned the stalls. And of course, many thanks to those who came to buy and support the cause. Finally, a huge ‘thank you’ and congratulations to the wonderful Lenore.
Anthony is currently on a sponsored, year-long recital tour of the most exclusive hotels in Europe, to raise funds for UNICEF. The afternoon recitals feature pieces by Telemann and Bach, and he encourages guests to make a donation at unicef.org. He's planning to visit twelve countries in one year. On Saturday 5th August 2023, he performed a recital in the Lobby Lounge of the Hotel Adlon Kempinski, Berlin and was greatly appreciated by the guests. Here is a clip of Anthony performing the Largo from Bach's Sonata No. 3 in the Lobby Lounge of Adlon Kempinski: https://youtube.com/shorts/hrk8DA8dpcI?feature=share Anthony has also performed recitals in Paris, Venice, Riga, Vilnius, Vienna, Prague and Budapest, during which time he has been a great ambassador for young Brits. The final leg of his sponsored Grand Tour for UNICEF will be to the Benelux Countries plus Switzerland from 14th till 23rd July, finishing with a performance in Bern Minster on 21st July. I've attached some photos. Anthony said about his sponsored Tour, which has so far raised £10,830 for UNICEF: "What began as an idea, has turned into an amazing adventure, full of memorable experiences, which I hope will inspire other young people to use their talents for good." Anthony chose to support UNICEF, as it's the largest international charity that helps children in conflict zones around the world. He's increased his target to £20,000. Anthony is immensely proud of these achievements, which recognise, not only his violin playing, but also his commitment to music being a force for good in this world. He will be starting a BMus Degree at RCM in September. He performed 'Nigun' by Ernest Bloch and the Main Theme from 'Ladies in Lavender' by Nigel Hess.
