The church was full to bursting and several parents had to stand. The doors opened and the pupils filed in two by two and filled all the pews in the middle of the church. After a short welcome by Mr Berrisford, the head, two class sang their harvest songs. Otter class sang "Harvest Rock and Roll" with actions whilst Squirrel class sang "Cauliflowers fluffy". The school and parents then sang "We plough the fields and scatter". Rev Andy Barton introduced his Harvest message by mentioning crisps, which immediately got everyone's attention! He then invited four pupils up to give a practical demonstration of how we need to work together to ensure everyone gets a share of the earth's food and resources. The demonstration involved a packet of Yumyums, two forks and two pairs of chopsticks and everyone watched with interest. Tawny Owl class then sang "Thank your lucky stars" extremely well and this was followed by Woodpecker class singing "Celebrating the Harvest". Each song had a different musical style and this made for a wonderful celebration of Harvest. Finally the school lead the parents in singing "Harvest Praise". The school's Values Ambassadors lead everyone in prayer before Rev Andy gave the Blessing.
