The Rev Andrew Barton was inducted as Priest-in-Charge of the new benefice of West Tone at a service in All Saints’ Church, Rockwell Green on Sunday 8th September.
He will oversee the parishes of All Saints, Ashbrittle, Bathealton, Kittisford, Sampford Arundel, Stawley and Thorne St Margaret which form the new Benefice of West Tone.
He has previously been an Army Chaplain based at RNAS Yeovilton and will continue to live in Langford Budville.
Andrew’s induction was conducted by the Rt Rev Michael Beasley, Bishop of Bath and Wells.
Also in attendance was Venerable Simon Hill, Archdeacon of Taunton; Cllr Janet Lloyd, Mayor of Wellington; members of Wellington Town Council , Andrew’s wife, Sioned, and members from the local parishes in the Benefice of West Tone.
On his appointment Andrew said: “As I anticipate taking up this new role in the West Tone Benefice, I find myself excited, humbled and hopeful.
“Sioned and I look forward to joining all who live, work and play in the benefice, to see the blessings God has in store for every person”.
