Getting here
This 13th century church sits behind Cothelstone Manor at the
foot of the southern slopes of the Quantock Hills. The approach
to the church is down the Manor drive (by kind permission of the
owners) bearing left to a small grass car park. The path takes
you through the pretty cottage gardens to the church.
This church is open during the day and has some lovely
stained glass windows, ancient bench ends, font and pulpit, and
effigies of the Stawell family. The Church has been well looked
after in the past by the two families who have owned the estate.
The last ten years have seen some necessary repair
work, including the roof, tower, rewiring, additional lighting,
replacement heating and alterations to the vestry at the base of the tower.
