In light of recent requirements the church is now closed to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. Even the clergy are now not allowed to make private prayer, a decision which seems illogical and unduly draconian. NOTICESC O R O N A V I R U S The church is closed for public worship. However, it will remain open throughout the day for private prayer. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed at 10.00am for half an hour and again on Fridays at 12.30pm. Please access the Church of England website for prayers and services. If you have no access to the internet, please let the office know and we will print out resources for you and leave them at the back of church with your name on. We are advised not to leave papers around for risk of infection. Fr Julian is available for essential pastoral visits and home communions and will endeavour to keep in touch with you all. All social events and the use of the hall have been suspended. If you wish to return your weekly collection envelopes, please put them through the letter box in the choir vestry link. This will be checked several times a day. Thank you. The magazine is available for April. Today, Sunday 22nd March, has been declared a National Day of Prayer for those affected by the coronavirus. We are all invited to light a candle and place it in a front window at 7pm as a witness to Christ our Light and Hope. C O R O N A V I R U SHoly Trinity is taking every precaution to ensure that it is safe to worship here. All government and Bishops’ guidelines are being followed. Please also do what you can to prevent this disease’s spread and its effects.• Please ensure that you follow all guidelines concerning hygiene• Please use the hand sanitisers (if available) before any service• The Holy Water stoups have been emptied to avoid risk of contamination• There will be no collection; the plate will be available as you enter for your offerings• The use of the chalice has been suspended; Holy Communion will be administered in one Kind• During the Peace, please avoid physical contact of any kind, and restrict your greeting to words and a smile• Those administering Holy Communion will also use hand sanitiser• Meetings and groups will go ahead as planned• Hospital and pastoral visits will continue at present• Please assist any vulnerable neighbours with shopping etc• Remember in your prayers all those affected in any way by CoronavirusAdvice is being reviewed and updated as the pandemic continues,and Holy Trinity’s practice will fully reflect this.
