Midweek Services With winter temperatures with us, all midweek services will be in the Vestry.

Compline During Advent Compline (or Night Prayer), will be said in the Vestry next Tuesday at 8pm and the following Tuesday. Put the dates in your diary now!

Outlook December’s issue of the parish magazine is available online; some hard copies are still at the back of church for those who cannot access it electronically.

Carol Service Our celebration of Christmas begins next Sunday with Carols by Candlelight at 6.30pm. with the preparation of the hall for the mulled wine and mince pies afterwards. Our organist will be John Dale, the Organist at the Good Shepherd.

Golden Jubilee Bishop Michael is celebrating his Golden Jubilee of being ordained priest this weekend, and welcomes all to join him for cake and fizz in the hall after the Parish Mass.

Organists While our ‘in-house’ organists are unwell, we welcome Geoff Greenhough (GS Chard), John Dale (GS Chard) and Hugh Wilson to play over the Christmas period. We are also most grateful to John Eyles for playing at Bishop Michael’s thanksgiving mass yesterday.

School Carols Holy Trinity school will be coming to the church for their annual carol service on Thursday week, 19 December at 2pm. Volunteers to greet and steward would be most welcome; please let the church Wardens know if you can help. Thank you.

Carol Singing A group of carollers will be singing around Holy Trinity on Saturday 21st, collecting from St Margaret's Hospice. Come along and add your choices! Meet at church at 7pm.

Christmas Fair After all the hard work put in by so many people, the marvellous total of £2300 has been raised. So far…!

There’s list to sign at the back of church, if you can provide any. All told, a further 2 dozen mince pies should be enough.

Operation We are pleased for Simon, our organist, who is to have planned surgery this week, and will be out of action for a few weeks. This will be over Christmas, and although several services have been covered, if there any suggestions as to who might be able to assist, please let Fr Julian or the Wardens know. Thank you.

Golden Jubilee Bishop Michael will be celebrating his 50th anniversary of being ordained priest with a Thanksgiving Mass this Saturday 14 December at 12 noon, and will preside and preach at the Parish Mass on the 15th. After the Sunday service, there will be fizz and cake in the hall! Congratulations, Father, on this special jubilee.

Feast of Our Lady Today we also celebrate the Immaculate Concept-ion of Mary. She was born without sin, so her Son could be sinless. We will celebrate this feast this evening at 4.00pm.

Christmas Fair Many thanks to so many of you who worked so hard before, during and after yesterday’s Fair. It’s always a lot of effort, but so worthwhile. Thank you. Totals raised will be announced at services.

Michael Ford, RIP Michael was a deacon at Holy Trinity 11 years ago, and has now sadly died. His funeral Requiem will be at St George’s RC church at 11am on Saturday 14 December. May he rest in peace,

Paddington Bear Fr Julian whose appreciation for this furry creature has been recognised is most grateful for the gift of a Paddington Bear shaped tin of biscuits.
