The Youth Mission is involved in a variety of activities with our church families and young people. These have ranged from Messy Church events including Mothering Sunday, Easter Activities through Messy Church, the summer picnic, harvest and Christmas events. We have also been pleased to welcome children from our school and from Stepping Stones into Church for worship sessions, these occasions include much happy activity and it’s a joy to have both the children and their families in Church.
We provide Open the Book sessions at Staplegrove School. Open the Book is a Bible Reading Fellowship project for primary schools where a team of the congregation present stories from the Bible during Collective Worship. It has proved an enjoyable experience for both the children and church members, it’s a great way to connect church and school and if anyone would like to join the team just get in touch. We need help with costumes and props as well as folk willing to take part on the day, the more the merrier. During the pandemic restrictions we have recorded video Open the Book stories for Staplegrove and Norton Fitzwarren Schools which have been great fun and well received.
All that we do would not be possible without the help and support you have all given us and we are very grateful to everyone who helps us. Thank you for your prayers, hospitality and offers of help which are truly appreciated. As a group we are all committed to seeking ways to expand our mission work with children, families and our wider church community. If you have ideas about future developments for youth work in the parish or would like to help us please get in touch, we would love to hear from you.
