St. Catherine's in the United Benefice.
St. Catherine’s forms, together with the Parishes of St. Andrew's in Curry Rivel and St. Martin’s in Fivehead, a ‘United Benefice’ within the Ivelchester Deanery. If transport to services is a problem, lifts can be arranged.
Due to a reorganisation within the Diocese and Deanery, some time in 2025 the 3 parishes will become part of a new, larger benefice, under a different name, that will also include the parishes of Aller, High Ham with Low Ham, Huish Episcopi cum Langport, and Drayton. In its leadership team, this new benefice will have a full time Rector (post currently vacant), and an 'Associated Priest', Rev. Scott Patterson, who was licensed for this role on 28th July 2024). The seven parishes of the new benefice are jointly involved in the process to appoint a new rector.
During the vacancy period from 28th April 2025, Rev. Patterson will be responsible for the spiritual oversight and pastoral care of all seven parishes, including St Catherine's. He is therefore the first point of contact for enquiries regarding, baptisms, weddings and funerals. For all other general matters, please contact our Churchwarden, Anna Rees. Contact details are given on the "Get in Touch" page.
