Accessibility

The toilet facilities are NOT situated in the church building, but in The Old School Room (OSR) which is situated 30m North of ('behind') the church; there is a disabled toilet in the OSR. Access to the OSR is during times of the services, via a path directly from the church building to the OSR.

These are available in the Old School Room (OSR), in the disabled toilet.

Car parking (NOT in marked bays) is adjacent to the churchyard wall, on the public road that surrounds the Green.

The nearest defibrilator is available at the Village Hall, which is located @ 100 yds at from the church and opposite the School, down the road leading towards the main road (A378) from the church.

No 'ramp', however, wheelchair access is via a (slightly sloped) path that leads from the porch around the 'left' (West) side of the church to the North ('back') of the building.

A hearing loop is available for those seated in the main aisles of the East part of the church.

The church is open dily, from @ 10.00 - @ 15.30.

St. andrew's is listed Grade I.

The Post Office is located in the BP petrol station ('garage'), at the junction of the main road that goes through the village (A378) with the road leading there from the church. Distance: approx. 200m.


Music and Worship

St. Andrew's Guild of Change Ringers
Founded in 1898, the ringers ring for services and weddings (if booked in advance). Practice is every Wednesday from 7.30 – 9.00 pm.
The team is well equipped and keen to teach this rewarding skill. Just climb the tower on practice night to find a warm welcome in the ringing room.

Groups, Courses and Activities

Bible Study
From time to time study groups, including the Lent course, take place as advertised in the e-mail 'Round-up' messages. If you wish to receive these e-mails, please contact the St. Andrew's Church Office on 01458 251375 or Rev Mark on 07471556366 or e-mail [email protected].

‘Craft & Coffee’ – on the 2nd Tuesdays of each month. This event takes place from 10.00 – 12.00 noon in the Old School Room (‘behind’ the church). People can bring their craft work to share their knowledge and expertise with others. If craft is not your thing, then do come along just for a chat, with homemade cakes and refreshments available.

This event takes place monthly on Saturday mornings (except January, April and August) in the Old School Room (OSR, 'behind the church) 15.30 - 17.30. Details are in the Messy Church Curry Rivel facebook page and any changes to the above timings are published in the monthly-issued village magazine 'Curry Rivel News'. For more info or call/message Helen Saich 07880706517. Members of St. Andrew's congregation and from other churches in the area as well as non-church members assist with the event.


Help for Visitors

Guides with information about the church and containing photographs, are available from the stand on the desk by the main door. A donation of £ 1.00 per guide is requested.

The church is normally open during daylight hours, from approx. 10.00 - 15.30.


Other Features

From September 2022 until September 2024 there WAS a food bank in the North Chapel of ther church, serving Curry Rivel, Drayton and Hambridge. It has relocated to the United Reformed Church (near the Post Office/petrol station) and is open on Wednesdays from 10.15 - 12.00.
