The Church is normally open daily between 9:00am and 4:00pm
Our Church has a fascinating history and we will be delighted for you, and your friends, to come and explore. We operate as a village church which is open to all. Details of our regular acts of worship can be found by clicking the services button. You are welcome to come along.
We house the Battle of Sedgemoor Visitor Centre – an interactive display which opened in March 2017. This is worthy of a visit in it’s own right. It is suitable for all ages and, as with the rest of the building, is free to enter.
When you are in the building you can see our world renowned mediaeval ceiling which was carved around 1520. We display the colours from the RAF station, in the past based at the local airfield. The airfield dates from 1919 and closed many years ago. We have some exquisite mediaeval bench ends. The choir screen and other wood work is by WD Caroe and was installed in 1936. WD Caroe was an architect and notable wood carver.
The twenty first century has seen the addition of toilets and a café area. If the café is not open you are welcome to picnic here.
This is an ideal place for children to explore a “mega-structure” which forms part of the creative curriculum for primary school children. It is an ideal place for adults who wish an accessible approach to key events in English History. It is an ideal place for those seeking peace and tranquillity. Despite the slightly gory history of this building it does exude a calm presence and enables many to touch with God as they wish.
