Christ Church

Sunday 3rd May is  the fifth Sunday after Easter and our gospel reading focuses on Jesus talking to His disciples after the last supper, Our reading from Acts tells us about Saul holdiing the coats of those stoning Stephen, the first martyr to the Christian tradition before his conversion. . Come and join us at 10.30am  for morning worship when we pray, sing hymns and hear the gospel of our Lord explained. Our service is followed by light refreshments as we catch up on the week's news, and share our stories.

Our Readings are:

ACTS  Chapter7 Verses 55-60  The stoning to death of Stephen

and John  Chapter 14, verses 1-14  "In my Father's house there are many rooms"

Lord, you hide your face
when we trust in ourselves;
strip us of false security
and re-clothe us in your praise,
that we may know you
as the one who raises us from death,
as you raised your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Amen
