Sunday 19th July is the Seventh Sunday after Trinity, and Christ Church welcomes you to a service of Holy Communion at 10.30 am. The gospel reading concerns the parable of tares and the wheat, continuing a farming theme, and the Epistle to the Romans reminds of the future glory, available to those who turn away from sin.
Our service will be followed by light refreshments in the Church Room, as we exchange news and share our experiences, so do come and join us
Our Readings are:
Romans chapter 8 verses 12-25 Living by the Spirit and not by the flesh
and
Matthew Chapter 13 verses 24-30 and 36-43 The parable of the Tares and the wheat, as explained by Jesus.
Loving God,
You alone bring growth to your Church and transformation to our communities.
We give thanks for the ways in which you are already at work in our lives and world.
As we look to the future, send your Holy Spirit to give vision to our planning,
wisdom to our actions, and grace in living and telling your story.
Help our churches to grow in commitment to you, in numbers and diversity,
and in partnership with our local communities in all that gives life,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
