Our Benefice comes together to remember Jesus meeting in the upper room with his disciples to celebrate passover. We meet at 6.00pm to share a simple Agape meal with pitta bread, and lamb. This will be followed at 7.00 pm by a special service of Holy Communion terminating in the stripping of the altar, and we leave in silence as we remember the betrayal of Jesus.

Pentecost Sunday June 8th is the day that the Holy Spirit descended on the disciples like tongues of fire, and we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit with a Benefice Service of Holy Communion at St Mary, Portbury at 10..30 am. The service will be followed by light refreshments as we meet together to catch up on local news. Do come and join us

Our readings for this Sunday are:

Genesis Chapter 11, verses 1-9 The Tower of Babel 

Acts Chapter 2, verses 1-21  The Coming of the Holy Spirit and Peter's Sermon.

John  Chapter 14 verses 8-17 and  25-27 Jesus is one with the Father, and promises the coming of the Holy Spirit,,
