Christ Church

Sunday 16th  August is the Eleventh Sunday after Trinity, and Christ Church welcomes you to a service of Holy Communion at 10.30 am, and the reading from the gospel tells about  the Faith of the Canaanite woman..

Our service will be followed by light refreshments in the Church Room, as we exchange news and share our experiences, so  do come and join us

Our Readings are:

Romans Chapter 11 verses 1-2a and 29-end

or who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counsellor?’
35 ‘Or who has given a gift to him,
to receive a gift in return?’

and

Matthew Chapter  15 verses 21-28 The Faith of the Canaanite woman

´Lord, you lead us by ways we do not know, through joy and sorrow, through victory and defeat, beyond our understanding. Give us faith to see your guiding hand in all things, that being neither lifted up by seeming success, nor cast down by seeming failure, we may press forward wherever you lead, to the glory of your name.

Amen
