Sunday 24th May is Pentecost Sunday, and we join together with the other churches in the benefice for a service of Holy Communion at  St Mary's Church Portbury at 10.30 am. If you would like a lift to this service, contact a member of the PCC.

Do come and join us as we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit available to all people who are prepared to open their hearts and minds to welcome Jesus and obey his commands:  it is regarded as the Birthday of the Church, so come and join the party!

Our Readings are:

ACTS  Chapter 2 Verses 1-21  The coming of the Holy Spirit, and Peter addresses the crowd.

and 

John  Chapter 20, verses  19-23   Jesus bestowes the Holy Spirit on his disciples.

"Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in us the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit, and we shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the earth.
Breathe into us a renewed passion for your truth and the courage to step outside of our comfort zones.
Give us the wisdom to navigate the complexities of our world and the grace to be beacons of peace, hope, and justice.
Unite us in our diversity, and guide us to be your hands and feet in our local community and beyond.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen."
