Christ Church
Welcome to Christ Church.
Palm Sunday is the start of Holy Week when we celebrate Jesus Triumphant entry into Jerusalem riding on a donkey, the start of a roller coaster weekl when a fickle crowd, who shouted Hosannah, as Jesus entered would later cry Crucify, when Jesus was brought before Pontius Pilate. We will mark Palm Sunday by distributing Palm Crosses during our service this Sunday, which is a service of Morning Worship at 10.30 am and this is followed by light refreshments as we continue our fellowship and catch up on the news of our friends and neighbours.
Astrid is still without a computer, so she has been unable to prepare a sermon on line, but we will have a Power Point Presentation at Christ Church to remind us of the start of Passover, two thousand years ago.
Our Readings this week are:;
Psalm 118, verses 1-2 and 19-end
Luke Chapter 19 verses 28-40 Jesus triumphant entry into Jerusalem
Loving God,Give us joy in our hearts as we shout Hosanna,welcoming Jesus our King with palms, celebrating all that we hope for as the Easter story unfolds.Then, as the journey of Jesus turns towards Good Friday, help us know that you are with us when celebration turns to sadness.Give us the faith we need to follow you on the way of the cross, which leads to life.Amen -
