St Andrew

NOW OPEN FOR PRAYER AND QUIET TIME

St Andrew's is a 15th Century church and like many it underwent extensive renovation in 1860s when the interior was decorated with 156 angels in wood and stone. In 2013 modern facilities were added to provide more flexible community use. In the tower hang bells cast by the local Bilbie family, still rung regularly by the local band.  We have a very strong link with the CofE Primary School Academy in the village, holding services in school and church.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Chew Stoke is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Bath & Wells’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO via the button or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor Ben Goodhind on 01749 588917. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
