There'll be a Bring & Buy Sale, a Cake Sale, a Tombola, Guess the Weight of the Cake, and How Many Sweets in the Jar? So lots for all ages to enjoy!

As a church we support St Francis' Hospital in Katate in Zambia. This much needed hospital provides medical and sugical aid to over 200,000 people. We hope that you can help us fundraise for them!

Welcome to our page on A Church Near You!

St Matthew's Church is a beautiful church in the village of Wookey, near Wells. We are part of a group of 3 churches and 4 parishes, known as a benefice, which are looked after by Revd Jan Shellard-James.

There are services almost every Sunday, except during some months on the third Sunday of the month. Also if there is a 5th Sunday in a month, a service might take place at a different church in the benefice. There is also a weekly Holy Communion service which is held every Wednesday. You are very welcome to come to any of our services or events, and details of these can be found on this website, or on our own website www.chwchurches.co.uk There are also more details about the this church and the benefice on our website.
