There'll also be prayers, a short sermon and refreshments after the service too! Please bring any food donations to the service with you, and these will go to Wells Foodbank.

Welcome to our page on A Church Near You!

St Matthew's Church is a beautiful church in the village of Wookey, near Wells. We are part of a group of 3 churches and 4 parishes, known as a benefice, which are looked after by Revd Jan Shellard-James.

There are services almost every Sunday, except during some months on the third Sunday of the month. Also if there is a 5th Sunday in a month, a service might take place at a different church in the benefice. There is also a weekly Holy Communion service which is held every Wednesday.
