We'll gather together outside the church to pay our respects for those who serve, have served, been injured and given their lives in past or present wars. We especially think of the local people who died during World War 1 and World War 2, and we'll lay wreaths at the memorial to them, after a time of silent reflection and remembrance. We'll then go into the church to have a short service of remembrance with hymns, prayers and a short talk. We hope that you are able to join us as we pay our respects to those to whom we owe so much.

St Matthew's Church is a beautiful church in the village of Wookey, near Wells. We are part of a group of 3 churches and 4 parishes, known as a benefice, which are looked after by Revd Jan Shellard-James.

There are services almost every Sunday, except during some months on the third Sunday of the month. Also if there is a 5th Sunday in a month, a service might take place at a different church in the benefice. There is also a weekly Holy Communion service which is held every Wednesday.
