Join us as we celebrate one of the main Christian festivals: Pentecost. This will be the only Sunday service taking place in the benefice, as we join together to celebrate.

God gave the disciples the gift of the Holy Spirit, which enabled them to follow in Jesus' steps and continue spreading the Good News with everyone.

We'll be celebrating the special gift of the Holy Spirit in today's service. There'll be activities for children to enjoy during the service. There'll also be a short talk, prayers and singing as well as the opportunity to have Holy Communion on this special day.

St Matthew's Church is a beautiful church in the village of Wookey, near Wells. We are part of a group of 3 churches and 4 parishes, known as a benefice, which are looked after by Revd Jan Shellard-James.

There are services almost every Sunday, except during some months on the third Sunday of the month. Also if there is a 5th Sunday in a month, a service might take place at a different church in the benefice. There is also a weekly Holy Communion service which is held every Wednesday.
