The next Muddy Church is in April! This is a countryside version of Messy Church, and takes place a few times a year. It's a family focused 4pm event held at Wookey Farm in Wookey. We'll be planting vegetables and seeds ready for harvesting later in the year. Plus, there'll be a Bible story, a song and refreshments to enjoy too. Everyone is welcome! Please can you let us know that you are coming by filling in our RSVP form via our website: chwchurches.co.uk or email [email protected] this will help us get everything prepared. Please walk here if you can, or park on the road. There is shelter if it does rain, so please still come along.

Welcome to our page on A Church Near You!

St Matthew's Church is a beautiful church in the village of Wookey, near Wells. We are part of a group of 3 churches and 4 parishes, known as a benefice, which are looked after by Revd Jan Shellard-James.

There are services almost every Sunday, except during some months on the third Sunday of the month. Also if there is a 5th Sunday in a month, a service might take place at a different church in the benefice. There is also a weekly Holy Communion service which is held every Wednesday. You are very welcome to come to any of our services or events, and details of these can be found on this website, or on our own website www.chwchurches.co.uk There are also more details about the this church and the benefice on our website.
