In Wookey Churchyard there are Easter images for you to find. Tick sheets help to tell the Easter Story, and children need to search for one image at a time. Tick sheets can be found inside the Church. This is a enjoyable activity for children to take part in over the Easter school holidays. (Please note that the church is usually open between 10am and 3pm.) You can make it into a challenge and see if you can complete the scavenger hunt at Coxley and Henton Churches too!

Welcome to our page on A Church Near You!

St Matthew's Church is a beautiful church in the village of Wookey, near Wells. We are part of a group of 3 churches and 4 parishes, known as a benefice, which are looked after by Revd Jan Shellard-James.

There are services almost every Sunday, except during some months on the third Sunday of the month. Also if there is a 5th Sunday in a month, a service might take place at a different church in the benefice. There is also a weekly Holy Communion service which is held every Wednesday. You are very welcome to come to any of our services or events, and details of these can be found on this website, or on our own website www.chwchurches.co.uk There are also more details about the this church and the benefice on our website.
