This is a service which has been written by an ecumenical group of Christian women from Palestine for the World Day of Prayer. During the service stories by the women are shared and we are encouraged to 'bear with one another in love' and join together to pray for peace throughout the world. There are also hymns, and Bible readings during the service. Refreshments will be avalaible after the service.

Welcome to our page on A Church Near You!

St Matthew's Church is a beautiful church in the village of Wookey, near Wells. We are part of a group of 3 churches and 4 parishes, known as a benefice, which are looked after by Revd Jan Shellard-James.

There are services almost every Sunday, except during some months on the third Sunday of the month. Also if there is a 5th Sunday in a month, a service might take place at a different church in the benefice. There is also a weekly Holy Communion service which is held every Wednesday.
