This is a enjoyable activity for children to take part in over the coronation weekend. Tick sheets are on the baptism font, and there are some paper crowns that you can take away to colour in and decorate at home. The church is usually open daily between 9:30am and 5pm, please note that there will be services taking place on Sunday 7th May.

Welcome to our page on A Church Near You!

St Matthew's Church is a beautiful church in the village of Wookey, near Wells. We are part of a group of 3 churches and 4 parishes, known as a benefice, which are looked after by Revd Jan Shellard-James.

There are services almost every Sunday, except during some months on the third Sunday of the month. Also if there is a 5th Sunday in a month, a service might take place at a different church in the benefice. There is also a weekly Holy Communion service which is held every Wednesday. You are very welcome to come to any of our services or events, and details of these can be found on this website, or on our own website www.chwchurches.co.uk There are also more details about the this church and the benefice on our website.
