In the first session we'll start at 7pm to watch the film 'The Way' together. Then in the following sessions, we’ll be discussing the film “The Way,” in which a group of people walk the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. As they journey, they are changed and this course examines different aspects of “Salvation”. It poses the questions: What are we saved from? What are we saved for? Welcome to our page on A Church Near You!

St Matthew's Church is a beautiful church in the village of Wookey, near Wells. We are part of a group of 3 churches and 4 parishes, known as a benefice, which are looked after by Revd Jan Shellard-James.

There are services almost every Sunday, except during some months on the third Sunday of the month. Also if there is a 5th Sunday in a month, a service might take place at a different church in the benefice. There is also a weekly Holy Communion service which is held every Wednesday. You are very welcome to come to any of our services or events, and details of these can be found on this website, or on our own website www.chwchurches.co.uk There are also more details about the this church and the benefice on our website.
