Taize is worship with gentle chants, readings and times of silence. It's rather like mindfulness while inviting God to speak. If you haven't tried Taize before, you are in for a treat.
Join other people from local area for a short Holy Communion service without singing. This is a great service to come to if you find it difficult to attend Sunday services or if you want to celebrate Holy Communion during the week.
Come along and try bellringing! We practice every Wednesday and new people are always welcome! Please be aware that there is a spiral staircase to climb. Hearing the bells ringing out on Wednesday evenings is greatly enjoyed by the residents of Wookey! An advent discussion about Jesus – in this first session we are challenged to look at Jesus’ life. Was he meek and mild as the carols would have us believe? Or instead, a demanding and controversial Saviour?

Every fifth Sunday we rotate which church we hold a morning service in so we can all gather together. This time, we’re gathering in Wookey Church to share Holy Communion. We're going to be singing hymns accompanied by the organ. There'll also be prayers, Bible readings, and a short talk, with coffee afterwards. We hope that you will join us!
It can be hard to meditate or pray on your own, so come and join a friendly group for a time of meditation/silent prayer once a month at Buxton's Community Room (left of Buxton's Close), Vicarage Road, Wookey, BA5 1JW.
Please arrive from 2pm so that we can all be seated by 2:15pm, as there is a security lock on the door. Each session starts and ends with a short reading, but the time in the middle is silent for you. There's a chance to enjoy a cuppa and a chat afterwards too. Sacred Space - an hour of quietness to ponder the Christ, Light of the World, who comes to us in these darkest days and waits for us to let him into our lives and transform us by his presence. You can pop in at any point between 7 and 8pm on Thursdays in December before Christmas.
At 7:45pm there will be led prayers and a reflection on an individual in the biblical record, whose faith shone out like a candle in the dark, and through whom God sought to guide us.

This is a special festive event - please join us in Wookey Church with activities for children, carols and hot drinks.
A Christingle is an orange treat with sweets, candle and a ribbon - which symbolises the birth of Jesus Christ and the Light of the World. Making a Christingle reminds us of God’s love for us and is part of the joy of getting ready for Christmas.
Familiy and friends are very welcome to come along too! No need to book, just come along.
There'll be lots of carols plus the traditional mix of poems, reflections & bible readings, with candles and mulled juice / wine to follow. There will be a collection during the service, with half the money donated going to a charity chosen by Wookey church and the remainder to support the ongoing work of the church.
In the past couple of years this has been a well attended event, and a lovely event to experience in the build up to Christmas! We look forward to welcoming you!
Christmas Eve is a very special day and as we tell the Christmas story we will need lots of helpers to act out the parts. We can provide costumes or you can come ready dressed. Please join us for carols, laughter and hot chocolate. This is a lovely event for families and children.

Celebrate the birth of Jesus together, as we all join together at Henton Church for a lively Holy Communion Service with something for all-ages. Please wear your Christmas jumper (if you have one) and if there’s a Christmas present that you can’t be parted from, bring it along with you.
On this day, there is one service for the 3 parishes, and it's being held in Coxley Church. There will be carols to sing and we continue to celebrate the birth of Jesus, with Holy Communion, prayers, Bible readings and a short talk.
