We're thrilled to welcome Henton resident and professional sailor Sam Haines, who's going to share with us his experiences from spending half a life at sea.

Sam was brought up on and around fishing boats in Cornwall. Initially he held back from going fishing himself, by the tragic drowning of his uncle, but Sam decided to pursue his passion for sailing and set off to explore the world. After 85,000 nautical miles sailed, including 11 Atlantic crossings and a circumnavigation, Sam returned to dry land and now lives in Henton with his family.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for children, and can be reserved by contacting [email protected]

Please arrive at 7pm for the talk to start at 7:30pm. Profits from the talk will go towards Christ Church Henton Re-Ordering Fund. Donations for drinks during the talk.

Welcome to our page on A Church Near You! 

Christ Church Henton is a beautiful church in the village of Henton, near Wells. We are part of a group of 3 churches and 4 parishes, known as a benefice, which are looked after by Revd Jan Shellard-James.

There are services every Sunday, however if there is a 5th Sunday in a month, a service might take place at a different church in the benefice. There is also a weekly prayer meeting which is held every Monday. On the 1st Sunday of the month is a relaxed service over breakfast at Henton Village Hall, which is free, and very much enjoyed. You are very welcome to come to any of our services or events, and details of these can be found on this website, or on our own website www.chwchurches.co.uk There are also more details about the this church and the benefice on our website.
