We are delighted that the Port of Bristol Shanty Crew will give a fun concert of wonderful shanties for all ages in Christ Church Henton, commencing at 5pm. This is raising money for Christ Church Henton Revitalising.

Beforehand, from 3 to 5pm, there will be mini-fete in the churchyard, to which admission will be free. There will be a cake stall, plant stall, ice creams, treasure hunt and gifts, with the bar opening at 4.30pm!

At Easter, we’ve celebrated Jesus conquering death, and the short course for this summer will be looking at Jesus appearing to a variety of people before he goes to heaven to be with God. These miraculous meetings are captured in art from the medieval period to the modern age. Join a friendly group of people for an hour as we look at these pictures, hear a Bible reading, and take away something to encourage our faith. Sessions start at 7:30pm. Venue: St Matthew's Church. Join us for a traditional and musical evening service.

This is a beautiful service, which uses service booklets so that you know which parts the minister says, and which parts the congregation say aloud. One of the main parts of the service is the Psalm for the day, which is either said aloud or sung. This is followed by readings from the Bible, including the joyous words of the Virgin Mary when she learned she would give birth to Jesus, and the heartfelt words of Simeon, when he recognises the Messiah when he meets Jesus. The service ends with prayers: the Lord's Prayer, the prayer for the day, a prayer for peace and a prayer for help against troubles. There are four hymns which are sung during the service, and a a short talk too.

During the summer holidays, we're holding three fun mornings for primary school and younger children and guardians at Coxley Church. Children can play with a variety of toys, let off some energy with an outside treasure hunt, or enjoy some of the other activities, and refreshments. No fees, no need to book - just turn up, and tell your friends too!

Take part in an afternoon for children and families in Wookey Churchyard, caring for wildlife with a variety of nature activities! Explore the churchyard with a bug hunt, get arty with leaf rubbings, and make fat balls for local birds to enjoy. Help create a natural habitat for wildlife with logs and sticks. And get creative decorating biscuits to turn them into ladybirds. There’s no need to book your place, and it’s free, plus tell your friends too. Every fifth Sunday we rotate which church we hold a morning service in so we can all gather together. This time, we’re gathering in Henton Church to share Holy Communion. We're going to be singing hymns accompanied by the organ. There'll also be prayers, Bible readings, and a short talk, with coffee afterwards. We hope that you will join us!
