40 days after Easter, we are celebrating the ascension of Jesus to Heaven, with a special Holy Communion service. This year the service is taking place in Wookey Church.

Join us at this Holy Communion service, which is a chance for people from all three parishes to worship together each month. The service is for all ages, with singing, Bible readings, prayers, and a short talk. There is space for children to play and be creative in the church, or they can join in with the service. This is a more relaxed church service than other Holy Communion services, making it great if you're exploring your faith. Everyone is welcome, and there's a chance to chat to other people after the service over coffee.

We’ll meet at Wookey Church at 3pm for our annual prayer walk, this year going from Wookey to Coxley. As we walk we’ll be stopping to pray for key places in our communities. We’ll end the walk at Coxley Church, where there’ll be tea and cakes. The walk will go along roads, footpaths and some uneven surfaces. Well behaved dogs are welcome to join in too. If people would just like to attend the refreshments at Coxley Church you are very welcome to do so! We aim to be there around 4:30pm. No need to book – just turn up.

At Pentecost we give thanks for God's spirit - changing and empowering Jesus' followers. Jesus’ disciples changed from being fearful to courageous. Jesus was no longer with them physically, but God’s Holy Spirit was and still can bring us courage and fullness of life. There'll be Holy Communion, songs, Bible readings, prayers and a short talk to inspire.

This is the only service taking place in our churches this Sunday, so we hope that you can join us!

We’ll look at and discuss paintings of the apostle Peter’s activities following Christ’s resurrection: healing people and God breaking him out of prison! We’ll compare the accounts in both renaissance and modern artworks.

Join us at this informal breakfast at Henton Village Hall. Arrive anytime between 9am and 9:30am. There'll be food, an optional quiz and a talk. There is also activities and crafts for children. This is a great monthly event to attend, and a wonderful way to explore your faith. New people and families are always welcome to come along.

Join us for a traditional and musical evening service.

This is a beautiful service, which uses service booklets so that you know which parts the minister says, and which parts the congregation say aloud. One of the main parts of the service is the Psalm for the day, which is either said aloud or sung. This is followed by readings from the Bible, including the joyous words of the Virgin Mary when she learned she would give birth to Jesus, and the heartfelt words of Simeon, when he recognises the Messiah when he meets Jesus. The service ends with prayers: the Lord's Prayer, the prayer for the day, a prayer for peace and a prayer for help against troubles. There are four hymns which are sung during the service, and a a short talk too.

Join us for a service of Holy Communion inside Henton Church. There will be hymns, prayers, Bible readings and a short sermon too. Plus tea and coffee served after the service, before the start of the Annual Meeting.

We’re delighted to be holding a return prayer walk this year. In May, we walked from Wookey Church to Coxley Church, and in June we'll complete the circle by walking from Coxley Church to Wookey Goat Farm, via Polsham and Fenny Castle.

We’ll set off at 10am from Coxley Church, and we’ll pause to pray for key places in our communities: farms, rivers, businesses etc. The walk will go along roads, footpaths and some uneven surfaces. Well behaved dogs are very welcome.

We plan to reach Wookey Goat Farm around 12 noon for a buffet lunch! There’s no need to book – just turn up at Coxley Church!

Did you love the 1990’s 'Gladiators’ TV series? This is your chance to come and meet Warren Furman (‘Ace’), who will be sharing the lessons he’s learnt as he’s gone from tv celebrity to become an ordained priest.

As part of ‘Wonder-full Wells’ events, Coxley Church are hosting ‘How to be Strong’: a café afternoon with lots of activities for children and adults (3-4:30pm Thursday 25th June).

A not to be missed opportunity, and will be a wonderful experience for all!
