There’ll be a range of activities for children to enjoy, including: a bear hunt trail, crafts, visiting the goats, a Bible story, and refreshments. Plus, wet weather can’t spoil this fun afternoon. Deepen your faith in this short course by using paintings from The National Gallery. We are going to be holding a 6 week course looking at the story of the first half of the Bible: the Old Testament. Each week we’ll look at a different painting and focus on a different event as described in the Bible. The course will be held in Henton Church on Thursday evenings for the first two sessions in September, and will then be held in a private home in Henton for the remaining four sessions during October and November. The course will be starting on Thursday 19th September, and will have two sessions a month. Please email [email protected] if you would like to attend this course.

Join us for a traditional and musical evening service.

This is a beautiful service, which uses service booklets so that you know which parts the minister says, and which parts the congregation say aloud. One of the main parts of the service is the Psalm for the day, which is either said aloud or sung. This is followed by readings from the Bible, including the joyous words of the Virgin Mary when she learned she would give birth to Jesus, and the heartfelt words of Simeon, when he recognises the Messiah when he meets Jesus. The service ends with prayers: the Lord's Prayer, the prayer for the day, a prayer for peace and a prayer for help against troubles. There are four hymns which are sung during the service, and a a short talk too.

On this fifth Sunday we’re gathering in Wookey Church to share Holy Communion. We’ll be focusing on the wonder of creation and celebrating the wisdom of Saint Francis of Assisi who had a supreme care of nature and animals. There’ll also be singing of hymns accompanied by the organ, prayers, and Bible readings. We hope that you will join us!

Join us as we give thanks for the harvest during this annual service, which is very special with the farms, fields and countryside located all around us. We'll thank God for his blessings over the harvest. There'll also be prayers, a short sermon and refreshments after the service too! Please bring any food donations to the service with you, and these will go to Wells Foodbank.

Come and listen to an interesting illustrated talk by Richard Kay of Lawrences Auctioneers about domestic British gardens from 1850 to 1910. Please arrive from 7pm for a 7:30pm start. There's free entry and a cash bar. Donations are welcome, and funds will go to Henton Revitalising.

Join us as we celebrate the All Souls Day. This is a very special day where we remember those who have died and are no longer with us. We are gathering together in one church to celebrate this special day with prayers, the lighting of t-lights, and a short sermon. If you have lost someone you care about in the past or recently you are especially welcome to join us!

We'll gather together to pay our respects for those who serve, have served, been injured and given their lives in past or present wars. We especially think of the local people who died during World War 1 and World War 2, and we'll lay wreaths at the memorial to them, after a time of silent reflection and remembrance. We'll then have a short service of remembrance with hymns, prayers and a short sermon. We hope that you are able to join us as we pay our respects to those to whom we owe so much.

Each week we’ll look at a different painting and focus on a different event as described in the Bible. This is a great continuation of the earlier course, but can also be enjoyed as a stand-alone course.
