Advent Sacred Space

Sacred Space - an hour of quietness to ponder the mystery of Christ’s birth and the need for that birth. This year there are reflections on how animals adapt to winter, waiting in the cold and darkness for the return of light and hope. Please join us in Christ Church Henton at any point between 7 and 8pm on Thursday 5th, 12th, 19th December. With prayers and readings for Compline at 7:45pm.

Enjoy singing a selection of Christmas carols and listen to poems being read at The Sheppey Inn in Lower Godney. This popular local event, with refreshments afterwards to enjoy! In the past couple of years this has been a well attended event, and a lovely event to experience in the build up to Christmas!

Advent Cornerstone (Informal Service)

This is a special edition of our monthly Cornerstone service, but this one is focused on the Christmas story. It's perfect for all ages, people who would like a more relaxed form of worship, and those who are interested in a less traditional service. Come along to an enjoyable and thought provoking service. Hear about the Christmas story, sing some well known songs and pray for everyone. This is a great service to attend if you are new to Church or interested in Christianity. This service is named after the belief that Jesus is the cornerstone on which we build our faith and live our lives.

Nativity Play

Join us as we act out the Nativity! Families and children are very welcome to join in, and you can even come already dressed up! How about a king, a shepherd, a sheep, an angel or a star? We will provide costume for you to borrow during the service too! There'll be carols, laughter and hot chocolate!

Covenant Service

At the start of each year, it's a great opportunity to review priorities and commitments. During this service of Holy Communion we renew the covenant between us and God. There'll be Bible readings, singing, prayers and a short talk, as well as Holy Communion.

Christingle Celebration

This is a special festive event for children and families. There'll be a craft activity, Christmas songs to sing, making Christingles (orange treats with sweets, candle and a ribbon) and hot chocolate to enjoy! Familiy and friends are very welcome to come along too! No need to RSVP, just pop along and we look forward to seeing you!
