There has been a church in Mudford since Saxon times. The present church dates from 1239.It has Jacobean pews and a barrel ceiling.
St. Mary's has been, and remains, an important part of the Mudford community for Remembrance Day, Christmas, Easter, harvest, flower festivals, weddings, baptisms and funerals.
It organises a house study group and 'Friends of St. Mary's' which holds monthly talks and outings.A second-hand book stall is manned every Thursday at the 'Village Cafe' in the Village Hall from 10:00am until 12 noon.
