About Us
A historic church dating from at least the 13th. century, and probably very much older, the church features in Simon Jenkins' '1000 Best Churches' and is described by Arthur Mee in 'Somerset: The Kings England' as 'this little paradise, which breaks upon us suddenly'.
Lit by candles, and using the Book of Common Prayer, even on a cold frosty morning at 8.00.a.m. it is easy to feel the atmosphere of over 800 years of worship as the congregation say Matins or Evensong together in this magical place.
Our congregation is small, but your welcome will be very warm, whatever the temperature in the church, and our many visitors who worship with us invariably comment on the beauty and serenity of the occasion.
Our church is extremely popular for weddings, and we have been honoured to host the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony for couples from all over the country who have fallen under the spell of this enchanted place.
