Safeguarding Officer Contact Point
"The parish of West Pennard is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Bath & Wells’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
"If you believe that there is a vulnerable person, whether child or adult, who is being mistreated within the community of St. Nicholas Parish Church, West Pennard, please contact our safeguarding officer: David Willis at [email protected]
If you have information about a safeguarding situation where a child or adult is in immediate danger or requires immediate medical attention call the emergency services on 999. Do not delay.
Mistreatment is defined as any action taken by one person towards another person that is not in the best interests of that person even if that action is taken innocently and without malice.
Note that Mr. Willis is safeguarding officer for all parishes in the Brue Benefice including Baltonsborough, Butleigh, Lottisham and West Bradley as well as West Pennard. He may be contacted on any safeguarding issues relating to those parishes as well.
