About Us

The Anglican Church of St John the Baptist in Glastonbury is "A Christian Spiritual Centre, at the heart of the town, for everyone."

As part of our ministry, we are pleased to welcome all visitors. Here you will have the opportunity to find spiritual refreshment, peace and tranquillity. Here, you may worship with us or simply find space and time for private prayer and meditation. Here you will also be able to see a beautiful building.

We are fortunate to worship in such a beautiful and historic building. There has been a church on this site for well over a thousand years. Legend has it that Joseph of Arimathea, who gave his tomb for Christ's burial, came to Glastonbury. It is even suggested that, in an earlier visit, he brought the boy Jesus here. Hence Glastonbury is considered by many to be the cradle of Christianity in Britain.
