The church will re-open on Sunday 1st May for the 10.30am service after its six-month closure to facilitate provision of an accessible WC, servery and gallery accessed by a contemporary style spiral staircase and cantilevered section. The church has also been redecorated, and LED lighting installed, throughout. In addition, specialist organ builders Brian Hooper and Liam Davies have beautifully restored the church organ and relocated this to its new home in the north aisle. Ultrafast broadband ordered from Openreach will shortly be installed with Wi-Fi. Main contractors TA Green of Wincanton and their specialist sub-contractors have completed the works designed by church architect Mark Taylor to the highest standards.

The overall effect and the way in which the ‘old’ successfully blends with the ‘new’ is simply stunning. It will enable our ancient parish church, now complete with its beautifully designed and crafted new facilities fit for the 21st century, to serve the needs of our local community much better, including that of Lovington C of E Primary School and visitors alike.

None of this would have been possible without the very substantial grant award made by Viridor Credits and Community Infrastructure Levies arising from the Mulberry Lane development in Lovington from Cary Moor Parish Council, for which we are profoundly grateful. Come along and have a look!

All are welcome!
