Henstridge Village
Fridge & Larder, located just inside the church building is now open!
"Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same." (Luke 3 : 11)
Open daily from morning until around 3pm, just inside the church building apart from when services are taking place. Please take only what you need and can use - further guidelines are posted on the fridge inside the church.
A Community Fridge and larder is a space where surplus food is shared for free, bringing people together to eat, connect, and reduce food waste. Visitors are encouraged to volunteer and spread awareness of both food poverty and food waste. They are usually stocked by local businesses sharing food that wouldn’t otherwise be sold in time, fresh produce from local gardeners, and food gifted from households.
Covid and food safety precautions are in place at the Fridge and Larder - sanitising cleaning wipes, and hand gel are in place.
Henstridge Church Fridge & Larder scheme was made possible by kind grants from CCS Somerset 'Smart Food Resilience' project and Hastoe Housing Community Fund.
