St Mary's (The Blessed Virgin Mary), Abbas & Templecombe

Welcome to the Christian Community serving the Parishes of Abbas & Templecombe, Henstridge and Horsington, with Holton and North Cheriton. We are currently in process of creating our new 5 church community, our new benefice.

Thank you for visiting our website. Our prayer is that you find what we are about accessible, welcoming and engaging in your pursuit of a daily living faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

In order to keep one another safe, we follow our Safeguarding Policy (See Safeguarding on our menu). The Dioceses of Bath & Wells Safeguarding pages also contain vital links and information to help keep one another safe. We aim to be an inclusive community that looks after the well-being of the other. 

Our focus at present is on helping one another encounter God daily to be Christ-like in our community. Romans 12:1-2. "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Bubble Church - church service for little ones!

Bubble Church is a Sunday church service especially for babies, toddlers, and young families. It's a puppet-packed, Jesus-centred, coffee-and-croissant-fueled, 30 minute kids and families adventure.

Here's the deal: you turn up at Templecombe Village Hall 10 mins before it starts for a croissant or pain au chocolat and a coffee, then you'll be guided to a 'bubble' and you and your little ones will share in 30 mins of song, story, puppets and prayer.

"Our parish of Abbas & Templecombe is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Bath & Wells’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO.
