About Us

St Mary's stands in the middle of Burnham and Berrow golf course. Nestling among the sand dunes the tower rises majestically above the beach, at one time whitewashed to serve as a mariner's beacon. Situated in Coast Road it is a well known landmark that is easy to find.

You are invited to visit and soak up more than 900 years of history, immerse yourself in the tranquil building and peaceful surroundings and just enjoy a special place. You will love the radiant glow of the sun setting across the sea and streaming into the church through the stained glass window in the wall of the tower vestry. A good time to visit is a weekend afternoon during the summer when you can spoil yourself with a sumptuous cream tea which is available in the adjacent church room every Saturday and Sunday, 2 - 4 pm. Even better, come to one of our regular Sunday morning services at 10.30am and be sure to leave enough time to stay for a cuppa and a natter afterwards. Whether a village resident or a visitor you will be assured of a warm welcome.

St Mary's is part of a benefice with St Bridget's Church Brean.

Communion takes place on the 2nd and 4th Sundays

Every fifth Sunday is a joint service with St Bridget's Brean. These services start at 10.30am and take place either at St Mary's or St Bridget's.
