About Us

Whoever you are, we want to invite you into our church, we don’t care if you are poor or filthy rich, single, married, divorced or widowed, or whatever your sexuality, struggling with mental health or as fit as a butchers dog, you will be most welcome at Trinity Church.

We want to welcome you if you are skinny or maybe want to lose a few pounds. Whether you have just moved to Ossett or Gawthorpe or been here all your life. We will even welcome you if you are not from Yorkshire! It doesn’t matter whether you have a faith, or you’re not too sure. Whether you went to church last week or haven't been for 40 years.

We want to welcome you if you can sing like Beyonce, or sing like Mr Bean We extend a special welcome to those who are over 60 but not grown up yet, and to teenagers who are growing up too fast. We welcome keep-fit mums, football dads, starving artists, tree-huggers, latte-sippers, vegetarians, junk-food eaters.

We welcome those who are in recovery or still addicted. We welcome you if you’re having problems or you’re down in the dumps or if you don’t like ‘organised religion.’ We’ve been there too! If you blew all your money on the horses, you’re welcome here. We offer a welcome to those who think the earth is flat, work too hard, don’t work, can’t spell, or because grandma is in town and wanted to go to church.

Whoever you are, you are important and very welcome at Trinity Church.

We are a welcoming community of people who celebrate our relationship with Jesus in a wide variety of ways.

We are a mixture of ages and backgrounds.

We share life; we support each other and we celebrate regularly with social events.

We are a dynamic and changing group of 130+ people.

2025 is the 160th anniversary of the church building, but prior to this an Anglican chapel and church dating back to at least 1409 existed in Ossett.

Please be in touch with us if you live in or near Ossett and Gawthorpe, and would like to meet or join with us.
