Emmanuel Church, Woodley

We're a friendly, informal and very relaxed church, and we'd love to welcome you! If you like labels, 'charismatic evangelical' is one way to describe us, but 'a family' is even better.

Emmanuel is made up of a complete mix of ages, backgrounds and stages of faith, and we help one another to grow in following Jesus and loving our neighbours. We have kids groups on a Sunday (aged 2-14), a youth group on Sunday evenings (14-18), and homegroups, social events, a toddler group and more during the week.

As well as our main 10.30 congregation every Sunday morning, Minecraft Church meets one Saturday each month from 10-11.30am (get in touch for the next dates!). It offers a creative and inclusive way to explore faith for adults and young people, especially those who might struggle with other church services.

Do get in touch with our vicars, Claire and Rose - we'd love to get to know you.

Safeguarding

At Emmanuel, we are committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO) - Liz Willcocks. Our Diocese of Oxford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
