St Michael & All Angels, Upper Sapey

Upper Sapey itself is just one of a group of six former parishes which make up the Parish of Greater Whitbourne. There are four churches still in use and lovingly cared for, but the one at Wolferlow has now been made redundant.

The Greater Parish is situated in beautiful countryside in the North East of the County of Herefordshire. Bounded on the East by the River Teme and on the South by Bringsty Common, the western part consists of sparsely populated farmland, while Whitbourne itself is a large village, many of whose inhabitants are connected with farming, and some of whom work in Worcester or Birmingham.

The parish of Greater Whitbourne is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Hereford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
